A young woman told me today that she was serving €950 shots of whiskey last night in one of Dublin’s most notoriously posh hotels, where she waitresses. This anecdote comes coincidentally on the same day as a new report by Oxfam that indicates that Ireland has the fifth highest number of billionaires per head of population in the world. Meanwhile, I see people in my clinic every day who cannot get access to basic housing, healthcare, or special needs assistance for their children. A tale of two cities indeed. It’s time to break the cycle of FG/ FF
