Brid Smith TD calls for transparency in company accounts in the Dáil
TRANSPARENCY? NOT WHEN IT COMES TO COMPANY PROFITS!
Most companies making money off the bins, are registered in places like the Isle of Man, Virgin Islands even New Zealand. This means they can hide their profits and ‘wipe our eye’ if they want to. Brid referred to this in opposition to the new regulations proposed in the Dáil last night. The government, backed by Fianna Fáil, want to allow companies to hide information that we need to know, for 5 years! This is not on. I intend to pursue this issue and call on them to account.
